Thanks again Lonnie for being so flexible with Ian’s (4th & 5th grade team) practice and playing schedule this season. I know it would have been easier for you to just stick him on a team regardless of the number of players but with some extra work on your part you allowed him to have more fun and learn a lot in only a couple of months.

Lonnie,
Blake had a great time and he will be back. We have been telling our friends in Westlake and there will be others who will want to play next time.
Thanks again for a great season.

We were so lucky to meet Coach Lonnie Welch when we were looking for a coach to teach our son to play and develop his basketball skills. Our son found basketball as a fifteen year old so he needed to learn the game and develop his skills quickly since he wanted to try out for the high school team. We met Coach Lonnie at Hoop Zone and he said he would love to work with our son. He began working with our son a few times a week and the big day came to try out at school. He made the team!!!! Coach Lonnie still works with our son once a week to continue to help improve his game. They work on all areas of the game. Our son loves to work with him. Coach Lonnie not only works with him on the fundamentals, but he has helped our son gain the confidence to play. We are continuing to work with Coach Lonnie and would highly recommend him.
Sincerely,
The Fishers

Coach Lonnie,
We wanted to thank you for the tremendous work you have done with Jessica. When she decided she wanted to try out for the 7th grade basketball team, we knew we needed help because she had only played one season at the Y. You have a unique ability to isolate key shooting techniques and were able to teach that to Jessica. After six weeks of practice with Coach Lonnie, she made the team! We watched her first scrimmage last night and she had the best form of all the kids. She was able to react, defend, pass, had good ball handling skills, and scored several times. She said all the hard work and drills are paying off. We appreciate your time and dedication to teaching proper techniques that will offer long term success to our daughter.
Regards,
Mary
Lonnie Welch helped with our daughter’s development in the sport of basketball. An experienced player and coach myself, I saw her potential. I helped her get started; however, she needed additional training, it was Lonnie’s program of instructions and games that provided my daughter the skills, confidence and inspiration to stay with the sport she loves. It proved to be the right decision- this year she was moved up in her high school!
Thanks you,
Chicago
